Unreal Engine 5: Environments Masterclass
Over four weeks, master UE5’s landscape tools, procedural foliage, lighting, and post‑processing. In daily 40‑minute studios, you’ll craft immersive game‑ready worlds from concept to real‑time render.

Course Outline

Week 1 – Getting Started in UE5
Learn the Unreal Engine interface, navigation, and project setup. You’ll import basic assets and build your first simple scene so you can move around, place objects, and understand the viewport controls.

Week 2 – Sculpting Terrain and Foliage
Dive into the Landscape tools: sculpt hills, valleys, and rivers. Then paint layers and scatter foliage to bring your world to life. By the end of the week you’ll have a natural environment with textured terrain and plants.

Week 3 – Materials, Lighting, and Atmosphere
Explore UE5’s powerful Material Editor to create ground, rock, and water shaders. Set up directional and point lights, tweak post‑processing settings, and use fog and sky atmosphere to craft mood and depth.

Week 4 – Polishing and Final Project
Pull everything together in your own mini environment. You’ll refine terrain, tweak lighting, add particle effects or volumetrics, and present a rendered fly‑through. By course end you’ll have a polished, real‑time scene to show off.

FAQs

Q: Do I need to know programming or Blueprints?
Nope. We’ll cover basic Blueprints for interactivity, but you don’t need any coding background.

Q: What computer do I need?
An i7 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and an SSD will keep UE5 running smoothly. A mid‑range GPU is recommended but not required.

Q: Is prior 3D or game‑dev experience necessary?
Not at all. If you’ve used any 3D tool or game engine before it helps, but we start from zero.

Q: Do I have to buy Unreal Engine?
UE5 is free to download and use for learning. We’ll walk you through installation and setup on day one.

Q: How do the classes run?
Forty‑minute sessions Monday through Thursday with live Q&A at the end of each week so you can get feedback and answers in real time.

Q: Will I get a certificate?
Yes. Finish the final project and you’ll receive a certificate from Abbottwolf Studio.
